HOW CAN WE HELP YOU?

Hemp is a plant known and used by man for several millennia. Hemp is not a drug, it is not registered as a drug, but its cultivation, collecting and processing are on the registration regime in the Republic of Bulgaria and should meet the regulatory requirements. Still in our country the collection and processing of green mass and flowers of such plants is prohibited, and from hemp could be produced only seeds for food and feed, as well as raw materials for the production of tissues from the stem part of the plant. There is evidence that hemp can help patients with certain medical conditions and alleviate their suffering, but its efficacy and safety when used for medical purposes has not been proven. The purpose of the CUMCS-G.A.P standard is to provide the best quality and consistency in the cultivation and primary processing of hemp (cannabis), which is intended for medical purposes. One of the main directions in the standard is to demonstrate compliance with national and international law, so CUMCS-G.A.P can only be applied in countries where the collection and processing of cannabis for medical purposes is permitted by law. The medical cannabis products that doctors will prescribe must be of the highest quality that meets the requirements for medicines. Each link in the chain of production and supply of cannabis products must meet the rules and requirements to ensure highest level of quality: from the production of seeds, propagating material, cultivation and harvesting of plants, processing and production of medical drugs, until their delivery to the pharmacies shelves.

CUMS-GAP was established with the aim to ensure consistency in medical cannabis production and consequently a product of top quality. This is accomplished by verifying that an effective quality assurance system is in place in the cultivation, harvesting and primary processing steps of the Cannabis plant. A strong traceability and legal compliance system from the source to the final product is assured— coupled with best environmental and chemical processing practices.

Such a chain of origin will provide patients with an appropriate source of cannabis for medical use, thus ensuring the protection of public health, well-being and safety and preventing the misuse of plants and their preparations. With obtaining CUMCS-G.A.P certificate, you also receive a GACP certificate of compliance. Control Union Certifications provides through a third-party, testing under the EU-GMP standard for the stages of production of medical cannabis products.
